Visiting a wedding photography client

I had a meeting with a potential wedding customer from Palmdale. They came from so far away that our meeting location had to be in Santa Clarita. I have never been in Santa Clarita before, so I decided to survey the city while I was in Santa Clarita. My plan was to visit several wedding locations in Santa Clarita and get a general feeling of Antelope Valley as a Wedding location.

Santa Clarita is located in Antelope Valley. The neighboring cities are Valencia, Canyon Country, Newhall, Cataic, and Stevenson Ranch. Out of all the cities in Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita acts as the big brother of them all.

It took me over 1 hour to drive over to Santa Clarita. I met the wedding customers at Starbucks on Valencia Blvd. We had a nice chat. I have a good feeling about this couple. They already booked their wedding venue at Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita. Robinson Ranch is a golf course located outskirts of Santa Clarita. My clients were proud to tell me that Robinson Ranch is the best wedding location in the entire Antelope Valley.

After the meeting, I drove around the city of Santa Clarita with a map. I visited a dozen or so wedding locations in Santa Clarita area. I went to a few parks, Robinson Ranch, and some restaurants.

What I have noticed about the parks in Santa Clarita was that they were not very big. Also there were a lot of people in the park enjoying the day. A lot of websites listed parks in Santa Clarita as potential wedding locations. But these parks are ideal for a small wedding (party of twenty or less).

Also, you might want to check with the City of Santa Clarita first. City of Santa Clarita manages 20 parks in the entire Antelope Valley area including Valencia & Newhall.

During the day I met two wedding photographers and one videographer at various wedding locations in Santa Clarita. They didn't know I was a wedding photographer. I casually walked up to each wedding photographer and chatted. I never saw another wedding photographer at work, so I was curious to see what they do. I wasn't spying on them or anything. It was just fun to talk to other wedding photographers.

It was a long day. I was very tired and hungry after 5 hours in Santa Clarita, Canyon Country, & Newhall. I had a quick bite at McDonald's in Santa Clarita and headed back home.
